A24, the company behind the critically acclaimed and Oscar buzzed about films Room and Ex Machina, just hired a former investment banking employee to head its international division. Sasha Lloyd, who will be based in New York and still maintains a small production company, will now oversee all film and television distribution and business development in the international marketplace for A24.
Image (6) A24_logo__131205180530__140507011114.jpg for post 725379Lloyd previously worked at GHL & Company (rebranded as Solar Entertainment HLB in 2012), a boutique investment banking firm specializing in media and entertainment. During her time there she led the $750 million recapitalization of Summit Entertainment and advised on the acquisition of the Miramax library from Disney by Colony Capital.
Before that, Lloyd worked at investment firm Goldman Sachs where she worked on the accounts of  Lionsgate, The Weinstein Company and DNA Films. The new A24 executive, who has a Master’s Degree from Cambridge University, will continue to maintain her interest in production firm Candlelight Pictures.
