Wikipedia article of the day for December 30, 2015

The Wikipedia article of the day for December 30, 2015 is Rashtrakuta dynasty.
The Rashtrakuta dynasty ruled large parts of the Indian subcontinent between the sixth and tenth centuries. Early Rashtrakuta inscriptions show their clans ruling from modern-day Manpur in Madhya Pradesh, Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh, and Elichpur in Maharashtra. This third clan overthrew Kirtivarman II and built an empire as the Rashtrakutas of Manyakheta, rising to power in South India in 753. At the same time the Pala dynasty of Bengal (in eastern India) and the Prathihara dynasty of Malwa (in the northwest) were gaining force. Each of these three empires annexed the seat of power at Kannauj for short periods of time while struggling for the resources of the rich Gangetic plains. At their peak the Rashtrakutas of Manyakheta ruled a domain stretching from the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in the north to Cape Comorin in the south. The early kings of this dynasty were Hindu, while the later kings were strongly influenced by Jainism. The empire was known for its literary and architectural achievements, including the Kailasanath Temple at Ellora (pictured) and the Jain Narayana temple at Pattadakal, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

It’s A Very Kardashian/Jenner Christmas With Drake And Tyga

Gunfire Forces Rihanna, Travis Scott & Ty Dolla Sign Out Of Club

Rihanna-Travis-Scott1
Things got pretty hairy last night at the Project Los Angeles nightclub.
A group of men began arguing and one of them fired his gun, causing pandemonium and chasing revelers out into the street.
Among the displaced partiers were Rihanna, Travis Scott and Ty Dolla $ign, who were all spotted fleeing the club.
Five men were arrested in the incident.
This doesn’t seem nearly as bad as last weekend’s almost Wild West style shoot-em up that preceded Shy Glizzy getting his chain snatched in Memphis.
Still, let’s leave our guns at home this holiday season.
It was unclear if the rumored couple were together.

Donkey CartelDaquan Antonio Westbrook, who raps under the name Donkey Cartel, was shot and killed Christmas Eve after allegedly opening fire during an argument in a Charlotte mall, and then pointing his gun at an undercover cop.
According to witnesses, Donkey was among two groups of men arguing in the Northlake Mall. Seven shots were fired during the altercation, which sent Christmas shoppers running from the mall and caught the attention of off-duty cop Thomas Ferguson.
According to investigators, Ferguson confronted Donkey and Cartel pointed his gun at the cop. So Ferguson fired his weapon, killing the 18-year old.

Judge Slaps Harsh Travel Restriction On Meek Mill; Sentencing In February

Round two of Meek Mill’s probation hearings  ended  with the judge ruling Meek was in violation.
Mill will have his travel restricted to Philly and its five surrounding counties until February 5th, when he will be sentenced. He also won’t be allowed to perform — even in his hometown.
Meek had been in hot water for flying to the AMA’s in California in November without getting the court’s permission. There were also reports that he failed a drug test when his urine came up cold water.
According to TMZ, Meek got emotional on the stand, and pleaded that he’s no thug.
“I’m not a criminal,” he said, breaking up. “I have my queen, Nicki [Minaj] now. I’m trying to do better and feel like I can be the best rapper out there.”
He also apologized to the DA for calling her a bitch in his ‘Faded Too Long Freestyle.‘ That probably wasn’t a good idea …

Rick Ross Discusses Drake Diss ‘Color Money; His Relationship With Lil Wayne & Birdman

Rick Ross
Rick Ross’s new single ‘Color Money’ has been the talk of the rap world for the last two days.
That’s because the Bawse seems to take after Drake — and either Lil Wayne or Birdman — in its bars. Ross addressed whether he was coming for Drizzy this morning on The Breakfast Club.
“That record is what it is, ya dig?,” Ross said. “It’s a lot of different people that’s going to interpret it a lot of different ways, and it is what it is … Let’s see how it unfold. We know how I came and how I do. I don’t play no games.”
On the ‘Color Money’ line, “I got more money than that pussy that you’re signed to,” Ross offered a clearer picture:
“Weezy’s my homie, J Prince is my homie,” Ross said. “I don’t have [a relationship] with Birdman. If you read the Source magazine you would see that, ya know right now, and really me just seeing what Wayne going through as an artist. Him being a boss. Me idolizing Birdman at a time. Me looking up to Lil Wayne. Wayne being the first artist to make so many feats—not just as an artist but an artist coming from the South. That’s something that I took personal. So for me to see the way things are transpiring I can’t respect that. And I don’t respect that.”
It sounds like Ross may well be recruiting Drake and Wayne on ‘Color Money’. Check out the interview in the link below.

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘TPAB’ Named Rolling Stone’s Best Album Of The Year

Kendrick To PimpKendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly was probably rap’s most polarizing album of 2015.
Mainstream music mag Rolling Stone has just named it the best album of all in their annual top 50 albums of the year list.
“Musically, lyrically and emotionally, Kendrick Lamar’s third album is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece – a sprawling epic that’s both the year’s most bumptious party music and its most gripping therapy session. The music mag gushes. “A rap superstar at last, after years on the underground grind, Lamar wrestles with the depression and survivor’s guilt that followed his fame and success by turning to heroes from Ralph Ellison and Richard Pryor to Smokey Robinson and Kris Kross to Nelson Mandela and Tupac. He lives large. He contains multitudes.”
Third on Rolling Stone’s list was Drake’s surprise album/mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
Also of note was The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness at number 5, Future’s Dirty Sprite 2 at 26, Vince Staples’ Summertime 06 at 35, and Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife at 44.

Bobby Shmurda May Be Released From Prison This Week

Bobby Shmurda bail deniedIt’s been almost a year since Bobby Shmurda got locked up on drugs and guns charges.
The problem is his $2 million bail, which Epic Records has made clear that they won’t put up.  Shmurda and his revolving team of lawyers have tried to have his bail reduced four times, and four times they have failed.
Now there are reports that his current legal team and prosecutors are meeting this week to discuss his bail situation, and there’s a chance something can be worked out.
That certainly won’t end Shmurda’s problems — his trial starts on February 22 and he’s facing up to 25 years.
But at least he would be able to enjoy Christmas at home.
Update:  TMZ reports Bobby’s aunt has put up several properties to help pay for his bond, and that the family is working with bail-bondsman to the stars Ira Judelson.

2 Chainz Wins Notorious ‘Thot’ Lawsuit

2 Chainz thot girlYou are now free to call a women a thot without the risk of legal ramifications.
Christine Chisholm had filed a $5 million lawsuit against 2 Chainz because of a humiliating backstage video he posted to his blog last year. Throughout the clip the hashtag #isthisyothot is flashed on the screen.

However, a federal judge in North Carolina just ruled that calling someone a “thot” does not constitute “extreme or outrageous conduct”, and dismissed the case.
Chisholm had also tried to up the ante in her lawsuit be claiming 2 Chainz had hired a hitman to kill her. But that apparently didn’t register with the judge.

Rick Ross Addresses Meek-Drake Beef On ‘Color Money’

Drake Meek rossRick Ross was put in a bad position when Meek Mill went after Drake this summer.
On the one hand, Meek is a MMG solider. But on the other, Ross has a pretty good relationship with Drake — who’s also the bigger star.
In Ross’s new track ‘Color Money’ he clearly makes reference to the Meek-Drake beef.
Color money got your bitch out on a world tour
My lil homie made a million on his girl’s tour
We back to back and down to whack a nigga unborn
Miami niggas got them changing all the gun laws
So run Forest got some shooters and they dying too
I got more money than that pussy that you’re signed to
But is he dissing Drizzy in his bars?
‘Back To Back’ was Drake’s Meek diss, ‘Run Forrest’ is a line from the Drake hit ‘0 to 100′, and the last line quoted sounds like it could be a reference to Birdman or Lil Wayne.

Chelsea fans see what your new £600m, 60,000 seater stadium will look like

Chelsea Football Club have submitted plans of their new 60,000 capacity stadium to the Fulham and Hammersmith council. The stadium will still retain the name Stamford Bridge and will cost an estimated £600m. Included in the application are plans to build a club shop, museum and a separate restaurant/cafe zone.

If Chelsea are given the go ahead by the council to build the stadium, construction could begin as early as May 2016, with the club vacating the premises at the end of the 2016-17 season to play home matches in London's Wembley stadium.
