M.I.A. Tests 'Borders' On Her New Song

M.I.A performs on November 9, 2013 in Austin, Texas.

M.I.A. returns to the mic with her unfiltered banger "Borders." After teasing the hard-hitting track on Instagram, the rap rebel calls out politics, policy and the privileged while waving the flag for freedom.

Earlier this week, she tweeted that it was hard for her to put her feelings about the world into bars.
In July, M.I.A. released an audiovisual project called Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border, a six-minute clip that featured her songs "Warriors" and "Swords." She also unleashed her video for "The New International Sound Pt. II," which featured 36,000 Chinese children fighters.
Consider this a sign for new material to come from the British-Sri Lankan rep, who is working on her upcoming LP, Matahdatah.
She told EW earlier this year about the project, "It’s like a journal. And the journal happens to be a really wide journey. It’s about borders and it’s kind of testing the human idea of that — whether it’s physical borders, geographical or philosophical ones.”
