Timbaland Holds Benefit Concert For Flint, Michigan

Timbaland Holds Benefit Concert For Flint, Michigan

The producer gave the proceeds from the Detroit stop of his tour to the city.

Timbaland stopped in Detroit yesterday (January 28) for his "King Stays King" tour and donated the proceeds from the concert to Flint, Michigan.
The producer shared the news on Twitter with a flier for the concert.
"Detroit come out tonight and help me support the#FlintWaterCrisis #givingback #KingStaysKing #TextbookTimbo," Timbaland writes.
"Proceeds from this event will go to purchasing more supplies for the Flint water crisis," the event's flier says.
The city of Flint's water is contaminated with lead after the water supply was switched from Detroit's water system to the Flint River in April 2014. President Barack Obama declared a national emergency earlier this month.
Other rappers who have donated to help Flint include The Game, Meek Mill and Big Sean. Flint native Jon Connor released the "Fresh Water For Flint" single January 28 to raise awareness for the crisis.
