Former top Fox executive-turned-producer David Hill has signed with CAA. This marks the first agency representation for the longtime Rupert Murdoch confidant who left his Fox post in June to launch a production venture, Hilly Inc., backed by 21st Century Fox, which specializes in live television, non-scripted shows, and digital projects. Mere couple of months into his new career, Hill landed one of the top producing jobs in live television when he, alongside Reginald Hudlin, were named producers of the 2016 Academy Awards.
At Fox, Hill most recently served as Senior Executive Vice President for 21st Century Fox, overseeing Fox’s American Idol, which is entering its final season, as well as the National Geographic Channels US. Over the span of his 22-year career at the company, Hill launched and ran Fox Sports for 20 years. He also ran the Fox Network, and was President/Entertainment of DirecTV. During his tenure, Hill won a slew of Emmys and landed patents for a number of innovations, including the glowing puck, and the football first down line.
An Australian native, Hill helped launch Britain’s Sky Television in 1989, having joined News Corporation from the Nine Network, before coming to the US.
